Flowering Shrubs
Flowering shrubs are beautiful and can provide a wonderful privacy block! There are literally hundreds of popular flowering shrubs that have
an array of gorgeous blooms for spring and summer. Many flowering shrubs attract birds with their berries and provide brilliant fall foliage and winter interest. Flowering shrubs are usually deciduous, although azalea and rhododendron flowering shrubs are welcome exceptions.
There are many uses for shrubs in the home garden. Flowering shrubs can be planted in a shrub border or in a mixed border, meaning they will be mixed with different plants such as annuals and perennials. In addition to the burst of color, one of the most popular reasons for planting flowering shrubs is for their fragrance. Shrubs such as lilacs, viburnum and purple leaf sandcherry can have some of the most heavenly scents when in bloom.
